UPGRADING / MOVING RR-Track 1. I am upgrading from v3.x to v4.x and can’t get RR-Track to accept the activation code.
Make sure you have v3 properly installed on your PC. You must install v3 from the installation diskettes and run it so that it asks for the serial number. If you do not insert the correct v3 serial number you cannot properly execute the v4 upgrade. After you properly insert the serial number, then you can exit RR-Track v3 and install the v4.x upgrade. You can verify your v3 serial number by starting RR-Track v3, pulling down the Help menu and choosing About, and noting the serial number in the About RR-Track dialog.
If you do not have the correct v3 serial number, please contact R & S Enterprises by e-mail so that we can supply you with the proper instructions for updating your serial number.
2. I have installed the RR-Track v4.x upgrade and get a message that I have an invalid serial number. What do I do?
You must make sure that v3 is properly installed on the target PC (see the above discussion). When v3 is properly installed, un-install the v4 upgrade using Add/Remove Programs on the Windows Control Panel, then reinstall the v4 upgrade.
Do not attempt to transfer an RR-Track v4.x installation from one PC to another without installing from the CD. Transferring the software directly between networked PC’s will generate an invalid installation and possible damage your Windows registry.
